The Express Cargo Division (XPS) of the Transport Corporation of India (TCI) signed an agreement Tuesday with Bangladesh's Enem Omni Group of Companies to facilitate distribution of time-bound express cargo to and from Bangladesh. The TCI Group is India's largest multi-modal cargo transportation company, servicing 3000 destinations.

Enem-Omni is a Bangladesh-based MNC with offices in the US, Canada and Australia and throughout Bangladesh. Speaking on the occasion at a city hotel here, Managing Director of TCI, DP Agarwal, said as part of the company's go-international project, it plans to set up offices in the Saarc countries, the Middle East and Singapore. "In the first phase of the expansion plan we have already set up an office in Nepal and now have tied up with Enem-Omni Group of Bangladesh. On target for the second phase are Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan, Dubai and Singapore". The TCI, he said, was expecting an additional revenue to the tune of around 500 million rupees in the next three years. The chairman of Enem-Omni, Neo. G Mendes, said his company had one of the largest distributionnetworks in Bangladesh. The tie-up with TCI would help facilitate trade between the nations, he added.
